Judo is a Japanese martial art derived from various schools Jujitsu. The name is a combination of 2 words, ju do. Ju means gentle or to give way, and do means way or life or discipline. The gentle way is the discipline of using the power of your opponent against them. It is yielding to force in such a way as to gain advantage, and using timing and leverage to augment your strength.

In Judo, you will learn effective self-defense techniques in which timing and leverage are more important than strength. You will learn how to use:

  • balance
  • leverage
  • throws
  • chokes
  • joint locks
  • pins

To control and attacker, as well as learning how to fall correctly to avoid injury.

The first hour is for everyone ages 5 and up. The second hour is for teens and adults.
